Lea Mugnaini makes bronze sculptures that feel like they’ve wandered out of a dream and into the room — strange, sensual, and alive with symbolism.
Born in Italy, raised in Germany, and now working between Mexico City and Berlin, Lea builds hybrid figures inspired by myth, memory, and the soft blur between bodies. Her practice spans drawing and sculpture, but always returns to the same questions: how do we touch each other? What makes a form feel familiar, even when it isn’t?
Her works at Lola — including L’Alebrije and Loro — twist human forms into surreal connections. One channels Mexican dream creatures. The other invites you to get lost in the space between bodies. Each piece is hand-formed, with textures that feel found, aged, and entirely intentional.
Lea received her Meisterschüler in Fine Arts from Universität der Künste Berlin in 2022, and has shown at König Galerie (Mexico City), Naranjo 141, and Maison Soleille (Ibiza), among others.
