FAQ

Call Me Lola partners with artists to create worlds that awaken the imagination. We take a holistic approach to showcasing art: utilizing avant-garde interior design to maximize the art’s impact. At Call Me Lola, we give guests the chance to stay in a living gallery for extended periods, creating deeper engagement and emotional connection with local art. Beyond private stays, we host events that meld the best of two worlds: immersive spectacle and art exhibition. During our signature events, during which no guests will be staying onsite, our properties will be open to the public. Call Me Lola does not profit from art sales. Instead, artists keep 70% of commissions and the remaining 30% goes directly toward marketing the art and artists.

How is Call Me Lola different than a stylish rental property?
Call Me Lola is an ever-evolving livable art piece. It’s a creative fantasyland co-created with many of our favorite local artists. We showcase art in environments that really brings it to life in ways that the blank white walls of galleries cannot. In some cases that means we design the space around the art, and in some cases we commission pieces around the design. Our properties are specifically designed to connect travelers — to each other, to themselves, and to local artists.
Is everything I see for sale?
Well not everything. We do have a souls, you know. But the vast majority of what you see can soon be making a statement in your home! Best of all, all profits go directly to supporting local artists. Prices for all available pieces are available on the, “Artists” page of our website. (Here)
How can I find out more info about artists or meet them in person?
You can learn more about artworks featured at our properties (Here), along wth artists who created each of the pieces you see onsite. If you’d like to connect with artists, you can reach out to them directly through their contact info on the artist section on our site.
How can I purchase a piece? Do I need to stay at Call Me Lola to purchase art?
If you fall in love with a piece simply through its digital presence on our site, by all means make it rain on our artists! We’re not going to stop you. That said, we encourage you to come spend the night and truly connect with the works in the way that Lola so thoughtfully intended. When you’re ready to purchase, you can reach out to Pew@pewpew.nyc.
Are Call Me Lola properties open to the public?
A few times a year Call Me Lola opens its doors to the few lucky souls in the know. Think of these signature events as art exhibition LSD — full sensorial experiences where every sound you taste, every performance you feel, and every elixir you hear is designed to create a fully immersive artistic experience. We’re hesitant to even call it an exhibition, because it’s the type of experience you will remember for years, and the type of place where you’ll want to stay in touch with every person you meet.
If I stay at Call Me Lola, is the gallery open to the public?
When you stay at a Call Me Lola property, it’s your home away from home. Or really it’s more like Salvador Dali and Yayoi Kusama gave you the keys to their secret artist compound and told you to treat the place like your own (“Just don’t do anything we wouldn’t do!”). When you’re staying there the place is 100% yours. Our signature events are the only time Call Me Lola is open to the public, during which no guests will be staying onsite.
How do I get informed about signature events?
Great question. There are several ways. Sign over your custody of your firstborn, the deed to your castle in French wine country, or bribe us in the most creative way you can think of. If none of those feel good to you, just join our email list, at the bottom of this page.
How do I get my art featured at a Call Me Lola property?
All creatives are welcome to apply. The work exhibited will be curated by Pew Pew on the basis of its ability to integrate with the overarching design of the venue and each room. Send an email to Pew@Pewpew.nyc Include your name, a link to your work, and where your work is located.
If 70% of sales go to the artists, what happens to the other 30%?
Great question. 30% of  sales goes directly to marketing artists and art. In fact, there’s a pretty great chance that the money spent on said marketing is how you wound up on this site. We too wish that word of mouth was all it took to spread the word about our magical art kingdom and the artists who collaborated to create it, but alas marketing is a necessary evil.
Who the F*** is Lola?
Lola is the artist, and she’s also the muse. She’s born of clay and Spanish guitars. She drips paint and charisma. She’s the elusive tastemaker in a constant state of metamorphisis. She’s the keeper of secrets she whispers through wisps of her Persian cigarettes, between sips of her unmarked Mezcal.  The glimmer in her eye is at once magnetic and unapproachable. Her one-sided grin evokes mischief and sex. Or is it the secrets of the universe?  You might not dare step forward, but you have to find out for yourself. You walk towards her, and the moment you’re in her orbit, she sweeps you into a world beyond the bounds of imagination. Take the leap. Adventure awaits.
