Emilio Flores is a patient archaeologist of movement — breaking things down to uncover the hidden patterns of life itself. Born in Monterrey and now based in Mexico City, Emilio’s work blurs the line between organic chaos and structured form. His sculptures feel caught in mid-evolution, where fragments of nature mirror the fractures of history, society, and memory. At Lola, Emilio presents a bronze piece finished in bold red patina, twisting and stretching like a fossilized breath. With its jagged, spine-like energy, it captures the tension he constantly explores — the space between growth and decay, permanence and change. A liberal arts student turned artist, Emilio has exhibited across Mexico, Spain, the U.S., and China. When he's not sculpting, he’s either doing nothing with exceptional skill (his admitted guilty pleasure) or channeling Zen-like calm into mastering the subtle art of pistachio ice cream and Dragon Ball inspiration. A self-professed “Shadow” with a sword’s spirit, Emilio invites us to slow down, look closer, and find rhythm in the rubble.
